Training creative shooting

The main task of the master class was to learn how to work with pulse light and flash in studio conditions. Special emphasis was placed on conveying the mood of the model — sexuality, emotions and depth of the image.

Canon EOS 6D camera, Canon 50 mm f/1.2 and Canon 17−40 mm f/4 lenses and Godox TT685 flash were used. Additionally, the organizers provided Godox constant light and colored rod lamps for experiments.

The project became a practice in working with pulse light and its combination with other sources. It was especially valuable to shoot in the studio for the first time in the dark — it gave an understanding of how artificial light can create rich and contrasting images. The model had three images, each shoot realized with a unique lighting scheme.

It was an important step for me to work one-on-one with the model and have full control over the lighting environment. Experimenting with color and light allowed me to get a deeper sense of the dramaturgy of the shot and unleash my creative freedom.

The result is a series of expressive shots, each with its own mood and character.

Experience with pulsed light has strengthened my technical skills and given me the confidence to build complex lighting scenarios.
